We have gathered some statistics of where our free webcam chat option has been getting installed, the kind of sites using it, and the end audience enjoying the on-site videochat that chuPPo offers.

Pay attention that we revised our paid plans: we both increased user sessions dramatically and decreased prices - by hundreds dollars per plan. That is really cool, not even saying it’s also maturing at quality and feature set day by day.

After some discussion we also decided to increase user sessions limit for the free option. Now all free chat installs can enjoy 1,000 users per month, this is twice as much of what you had before!

The very purpose of the free chat option is not only to give websites safe start trial, but it’s more about building free chat usage audience. It is our firm intention to build substantial range of websites using chuPPo Chat free, that is why we want to provide working free solution - not only for fresh sites but also those with established communities.

Finally we are glad to say that free option of chuPPo Chat is there, out of beta. We have couple dozen successful setups and are furiously working on new features.

As you might have noticed, we have been quietly testing the new, beta way to install chuPPo Chat which you may perform by yourself within 5 minutes. No downloads, no server configuration, no hassle - only sign up, copy&paste, and play. What might also be especially interesting is that it’s free!

You have 500 user sessions a month absolutely free. This is great for starting communities, it’s also great to have fully functional webcam chat set up to try before paying anything. After a dozen installs we will follow up with out-of-beta announcement and write about new features we are now developing to add shortly.

We just integrated chuPPo Chat to Facebook. Feel free to check out here: http://apps.facebook.com/chuppochat/. The installation is very basic so far but we’ll add more facebook-ish functionality shortly (like friends) to make this installation specifically useful for Facebook.

The good thing about this integration is that we constantly tweak user interfaces and make a lot of minor fixes everywhere. With the fact that chuPPo uses the unified codebase, it makes all chuPPo installations on the web better on a daily basis.

Thus, we put chuPPo Chat on Facebook to reach a broader audience of users with the purpose of receiving more feedback. Thus we can react accordingly and make chuPPo better.

chuPPo Chat UI got updated, now with small interface changes and number of users showing for every room. Feel free to check out.

Among all other things that we currently work on, we enabled sounds in chuPPo Chat and chuPPo Messenger. Now you can set them on or off. Feel free to check out on live demo and on your sites.

We’re currently moving in several directions at once. Last week has been spent on optimizing integration for smoother deployment on client sites. Now, it seems to have reached its perfection point. Now it’s enough to paste a few lines of code into your pages and upload a gateway file to your server. For those installing chuPPo without database integration, pasting code is enough.

We are also currently tweaking user interface to make chuPPo Chat look even simpler and cleaner. Dynamic skins is also on its way, so soon you will be able to see switching chat skins on fly. This opens great opportunities to diversify your user experience and stand unique from the crowd of chat sites.

Finally, we’re launching free chat rooms for consumers. You can chat online with your webcam plugged in, view other users audio/video streaming for free. Go check now.

Right after beta demo put online, we started receiving inquiries from SkaDate customers to have SkaDate integration. Some of them didn’t want to wait for native integration in the next revision.

As a result we got the chat online on several SkaDate-driven websites. It’s funny to see how easily the chat is deployed, and we’ve already felt the benefits of centralized webservice code. Our programmers are damn quick to fix anything, and the changes are going live instantly.

So far, feedback is awesome. Chat is stable, we are working, testing, responding, fixing and having fun.

We’re putting our webcam chat demo online. There are, of course, several minor things to fix, but in general it looks very promising, finally our customer base can enjoy the new, long-awaited community sites feature.
